Stammberger and Sinu-KnitM Sinu-Foam dressings are the only CMC (carboxymethylcellulose)
dressings that provide both a moist environment conducive to easier debridement
and maximum spatial integrity creating a pathway for epithelialisation. Once mixed
the high viscosity foam allows for easy placement in the sinus cavity, preventing
middle turbinate lateralization and reducing the potential for synechia formation.
The unique properties of CMC controls intra and post operative oozing via platelet
aggregation. Seven to 10 days post operatively any remaining dressing dissolves
away through normal nasal outflow.
